Annika Hutsler lost her right leg below the knee while serving in the United States Marine Corps and was introduced very quickly to the world of adaptive sports. Annika competes in many different sports but has decided that alpine skiing would be her pathway to the Paralympic Games. During the 23/24 season, Annika joined the high performance alpine team at the NAC as a 3-track skier. However, in the 24/25 season, she decided to try skiing with a prosthetic leg and she excelled greatly - going from never ever skiing on two legs to ending the season with 3 podiums. She also finished 4th in slalom for US Adaptive Skiers. She is making huge strides everyday and is excited to be with the NAC high performance ski team for another year.
Her goals are to make the US Team one day and to represent her country in the Paralympic Games. Whether that is in 2026, 2030, or 2034, she has big dreams and is working hard towards her goals. She also hopes to be a keynote speaker one day, and every event is one step closer to that goal.
